"Thank you for the excellent service I have received from you over the past year. You have been of tremendous help in enabling me to establish a new garden from scratch. It will take a few years to mature, but the structure is now inplace and I look forward to watching it develop. If and when I need further planting I will be in touch. I have recommended you to my friends. "

Time to plant out Argyranthemums, Osteospermums and other Summer bedding plants now that the risk of frost has passed.  Time also to plant up your hanging baskets and move them into position outdoors.

Patio plants which have been over-wintered in pots or tubs in the greenhouse or conservatory can now be moved into position outdoors.  These include Citrus, Datura, Palms and succulents.

Spring Flowering Heathers will be over by now. They should be given a light trim to remove the old flower heads and some of the new growth to make them bush out. Go gently however and do not cut back to bare wood.

If you are growing Japanese Maples in containers make sure they are not allowed to dry out and avoid leaving them in the full glare of the sun.  Partial or dappled shade is preferable.  Failure to observe these precautions will result in scorching or browning of the edges of the new leaves and die back of twigs or branches later in the Summer.
