Late Flowering Magnolias
FRIDAY 5th May 2017
Lecture by Charles Williams at Burncoose House
Many people think of March as the Cornish magnolia season. There are however a large number of less well known but equally stunning magnolias which flower much later in the year.
These include many of the later flowering yellow magnolias such as M. ‘Daphne’ and M. ‘Yellow Bird’. Also the M. x brooklynensis hybrids whose flowers have mixed colours and a number of species including M. x wieseneri, M. sieboldii and M. wilsonii.
The talk and buffet lunch will take place in the newly renovated Burncoose House which is available for exclusive hire, functions and weddings.
Following lunch there will be a tour of Burncoose Garden and Nurseries. Whilst most of the tour is accessible, some of areas may not be suitable for disabled access.
Please contact us in advance to discuss access requirements. Suitable for complete beginners, ideal for all with no prior experience necessary, all garden lovers would benefit from this interesting lecture.
You will need to bring wet weather clothing and boots just in case.
