  • Place of Origin - Zimbabwe, South Africa.
  • Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)
  • Height - 1 - 1.5m (3-5ft)
  • Spread - 60cm (24in)
  • Bulb/Corm - Bulb/Corm or rhizomatous perennial - cormous perennial producing dense, pendent spikes of flowers 3.5-6cm (1½-2½in) long.
  • Evergreen - grass-like foliage.
  • Full Sun
  • No Preference - humus-rich and well drained. Once established will tolerate poor dry conditions, rockery or even gravel drives!
