Burncoose Catalogue Code

Evergreen - elliptic to almost obovate (flat, egg-shaped, broadest above the middle) leaves with irregular, wavy margins. 7-13cm (3-5in) long.

Tall Shrub - Vigorous, erect to spreading shrub or small tree. Produces 2- or 3-winged pink to reddish-brown, light brown, purple or yellow capsules 2-2.5cm (¾-1in) across.

Hardiness Rating

Half hardy - Plant can withstand temperatures down to 0°C (32°F) - borderline.

Will grow outside in milder locations - This could include plants which would survive happily in a greenhouse or conservatory if not in a mild location. If you have a sheltered spot in your garden then it may do well here. - - if growing in greenhouse use loam based compost - full light.
