Blue thistle-like flowers, with silver foliage

Herbaceous - compact, clump forming perennial. Stiff, spiny leaves to 20cm (8in) long, dark-green with a cobwebby appearance above and white beneath, giving a silver effect. Produces spherical flowerheads 2.5-4.5cm (1-1¾in) across.
