Good to know - introduced into UK by Robert Fortune in 1843. Daphne-like flowers.
Pests & Diseases - none outside
Place of Origin - China.
Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)

Spread - 1.5m (5ft)
Deciduous - lance-shaped to oval, dark green leaves to 15cm (6in) long
Medium Shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - open, rounded shrub with supple shoots. Small flowers are produced in spherical heads 3.5-5cm (1½-2in) across.
