Good to know - introduced by Sir Joseph Banks from a Chinese garden. Originally named H. hortensis which gave rise to the old name 'Hortensia' . Now H. macrophylla (common hydrangea) is divided into 2 groups, Lacecaps and Hortensias(mopheads). Acid soils with a pH of less than 5.5 produce blue flowers; those above, pink. Neutral soils can be influenced by blueing compound. White flowers are not affected by pH value.

Pests & Diseases - red spider mites, vine weevils, scale insects, capsid bugs, grey mould(Botrytis), Hydrangea virus, powdery mildew, leaf spot, honey fungus.

Place of Origin - eastern Asia, North and South America.

Toxicity: Harmful if eaten - These will give you an upset tummy, so please don't eat any of these.

Delivery Information
Now is our busy spring period - orders are being packed 6 days a week, however please remember it may be 10 days before you RECEIVE your plants.
