Long, white-throated, glowing purple-blue flowers in pyramidical panicles followed by disc-shaped seed pods

Burncoose Catalogue Code

Deciduous - broad, 2-pinnate leaves 25-45 cm (10-18in) long composed of many elliptic small, bright-green leaflets.

Tree - panicles of flowers 20-30cm (8-12in) long. Flowers 3.5-5cm (1½-2in) long. Flowers on leafless branches.

Hardiness Rating

Frost tender - This plant may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41 °F).

Will grow outside in milder locations - This could include plants which would survive happily in a greenhouse or conservatory if not in a mild location. If you have a sheltered spot in your garden then it may do well here. - if growing in greenhouse use loam based compost. Allow full light and plenty of air.
