The largest leafed magnolia of all with greyish leaves, glaucous underneath and fragrant white flowers

Deciduous - very large leaves to 1m (3ft) long.
Tree - broadly upright, later rounded tree with stout, blue-grey shoots. Flowers are followed by cone-like fruits to 8cm (3in) long.
