Handsome architectural evergreen for the herbaceous border in milder climates. Bluish green pinnate leaves and crimson tubular flowers

Burncoose Catalogue Code

Evergreen - spreading, pinnate leaves 30-50cm (12-20in) long have 9-17 closely set, oval leaflets.
Medium Shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - erect to spreading shrub with robust, hollow stems mostly near ground level. Flowers, 2.5cm (1in) long, are produced in spike-like racemes 30-80cm (12-32in) long.

Hardiness Rating

Frost tender - This plant may be damaged by temperatures below 5°C (41 °F).
Will grow outside in milder locations - This could include plants which would survive happily in a greenhouse or conservatory if not in a mild location. If you have a sheltered spot in your garden then it may do well here. - loam based compost for glasshouse cultivation - full light.
