Commonly known as Tree purslane
Silvery grey leaves, an ideal plant for coastal or exposed sites
Good to know - useful for coastal hedging as is fully tolerant of sea winds.
Pests & Diseases - none
Place of Origin - southern Europe.
Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)

Spread - 2.5m (8ft)
Medium Shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - produces tiny, greenish-white flowers in terminal panicles to 30cm (12in) long
Semi-evergreen - Keeps some of its foliage all year, and will drop some leaves as well. - ovate or diamond-shaped, sometimes toothed, leathery, silvery grey leaves to 6cm (2½in) long
well drained, dry, poor to moderately fertile soil - shelter from cold, dry winds.
