    RHAPHIOLEPIS

    Commonly known as Indian hawthorn

    Genus of 3-5, possibly up to 15, species of evergreen shrubs and trees from scrub in southeastern and eastern Asia.

      Garden origin.
    • Resistant to honey fungus
      These plants have little or few problems with honey fungus.
    • Evergreen
      Narrowly elliptic to lance-shaped, deeply-toothed, leathery, glossy dark-green leaves 7-11cm (3-4½in) long.
    • Frost hardy (down to -5)
    • Height
      1.5m (5ft)
    • Spread
      2m (6ft)
    • Medium shrub
      Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height
      Bushy, spreading shrub. Produces flowers to 1.5cm (½in) across in loose panicles to 8cm (3in) long.
    • Will grow outside in milder locations
      This could include plants which would survive happily in a greenhouse or conservatory if not in a mild location. If you have a sheltered spot in your garden then it may do well here.
