Sometimes it is necessary to prune a Rhododendron, it is not generally recommended and certainly not to be undertaken on your specimen, prized Rhodies, however this particular 'Cornish Red' is somewhat of a brute, and needed a good prune to stop it encroaching and damaging the surrounding plants.
