For this year's RHS Plant of Year award we have put forward the amazing Hydrangea macrophylla 'Yulika'.
It comes from Sakamoto Gardening in Japan, after many years of breeding. It has been propagated in Holland, never sold worldwide and we introduced it to the UK as a new plant from March this year.
This plant is easy to prune in Spring, and very hardy in winter (-15°c). Raw flowers are dark red and when fully bloom white and red, amazing contrast in flower colour.
Fingers crossed for shortlisting this coming Saturday and final judging next Monday 22nd.
