We were contacted last week by Mr & Mrs Hancock from Durham with a lovely picture of a Tree Fern they originally bought from Burncoose. 

Mr Hancock said 'My wife & I bought it many years ago on a visit to Cornwall and having outgrown our conservatory it has been outside now for quite a few years and is thriving.'

We think you might well lay claim to an English (Burncoose) tree fern record especially after the cold winters in County Durham in 2011 and 2012. The west coast of Scotland would probably win the UK prize but a great achievement anyway.
