RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2019

Burncoose Nurseries’ 2019 stand at Chelsea Flower Show will be an exhibit of plants for a sensory / memory garden used by people living with dementia. Based on research that suggests long term memories can be brought to the surface when triggered, the stand will display plants from people’s past, and by doing so the team hope an extra dimension is added to the stand; one of reminiscence.

Burncoose Nurseries’ stand will be using plants to trigger memories and will create a garden setting where the enjoyment of reminiscing fond memories can take place in. It will feature plants like Foxgloves, old shrub Roses, Rosemary and Lemon Verbena, to larger classical plants like the Rhododendron, Cornus, Enkianthus and Stewartias. The stand will also have a circular path typical in a sensory garden, along with some raised beds.

The stand was awarded a Silver-Gilt Medal.
