December Monthly Inspiration
News and Gardening Tips
When the shorter, darker winter days arrive it is easy to forget that the garden can still have much to offer. Gone are the bright displays of herbaceous borders, the green woodland canopy overhead is a carpet of leaves on the ground beneath our feet. Why venture out when it is cold and uninviting?
This is a question relevant not just to us but also to pollinating insects. Plants have to work harder to attract the few that are still active in colder weather and it is for this reason that many produce powerfully scented flowers. These flowers might be small but their effect is far-reaching. One or two planted close to a path can be enjoyed even on the shortest of forays into the garden.
