February Monthly Inspiration
News and Gardening Tips
After all the enforced COVID lockdowns we hope, very shortly, to confirm the reopening of both Caerhays Castle Spring Gardens and Burncoose Gardens on Sunday 14th February after nearly 11 months of closure. This is of course subject to any further last minute changes in the rules by the government.

At present Burncoose Nurseries are open to click and collect customers only seven days a week 10.00am till 4.00pm. This is subject to review. Please see website for current information on opening times.
February sees the start of the Asiatic tree magnolia season in Cornwall which is one of the key attractions for those wishing to take a short lockdown escape to Cornwall. At Burncoose the record sized Magnolia sargentiana var. robusta will be in full flower in the centre of the gardens, seen also in the banner above.
Burncoose Nurseries are offering several less well known and relatively new magnolia introductions this year.
The semi deciduous Rhododendron ‘Ostara’ and the low mounds of Rhododendron 'Cilpinense' growing alongside the main drive in Burncoose garden should remind us all that spring is nearly here and that you can indeed introduce new early flowering plants to your own garden to speed up its arrival.
The hellebores are also looking great and we suggest the following for making a lovely display at this time of year.
