January Monthly Inspiration
Now that the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations are behind us, it is time to think again on the importance for the environment of planting trees. Whether this be the planting of native trees, or ornamentals which will also grab as much carbon out of the atmosphere.
It is still not too late to be planting, some guidance on this on the following links.
Following on the theme of the environment we are in the background, at Burncoose doing our bit. This year will see us recycling our runoff water and harvesting rainwater, this will help with relieving surface flooding and reduce our borehole extraction.
Chemical sprays are being reduced drastically and hopefully eliminated with the use of biological control methods. We have already treated most plants with nematodes that will help to control vine weevils.
Reducing Carbon Footprint
The Camellias have been flowering really well already this season.
A plant that does well in containers, if in a chalky/alkaline area or otherwise in the ground. You can find our camellia care guide here.
