  • Pests & Diseases - capsid bugs, caterpillars, figwort weevil, mullein moth, red spider mites.
  • Place of Origin - Himalayas. Discovered in 1849 by Joseph Dalton Hooker (1817-1911), explorer and botanist.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)

  • Deciduous - to semi evergreen. Lance-shaped, dark-green leaves to 12cm (5in) or more.
