  • Evergreen
    Sticky, lance-shaped, aromatic, dark-green leaves to 10cm (4in) long.

    Upright habit. Flowers are produced singly at the tips of sideshoots
  • Hardy - average winter Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)

    Good to know - an oleo-resin obtained from the leaves is used as a flavouring. Also used in the perfume industry where it is used as an acceptable substitute for ambergris.
