  • Blue - light blue with creamy-green anthers
  • Height - 3m (10ft)
  • Spread - 1m (39in)
  • Climber - Some of these climbing plants will need trellis or wire supports if grown on walls or fences. Other grow aerial roots and are self-clinging - free-flowering, late, small-flowered climber
  • Hardy - very cold winter - Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe. Plant can possibly withstand temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F)
  • Full sun - shade roots and base.
  • Additional Features - Good to know - - prune back previous year's stems to a pair of strong buds about 15-20cm (6-8in) above soil level before growth begins in early spring.
  • Pests & Diseases - clematis wilt , cutworms, aphids attack young plants and whiteflies under glass

    Suitable for: Deciduous shrubs and trees that flower in Spring or early Summer on previous year's growth, including plants that produce new growth at or near ground level.
    Pruning: Prune flowered shoots to strong buds. Cut back approximately 1/4 of old shoots to the base to promote replacement growth.
    When: Annually, after flowering.
