COSMOS atrosanguineus 'Chocamocha'

Commonly known as Black cosmos, Chocolate plant

This newly bred variety produces even more of a chocolate scent and has a more compact habit

  • Deciduous - spoon-shaped, pinnate dark green leaves 7-15cm (3-6in) long, usually with toothed leaflets.
  • Brown or black - crimson black

  • Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)

  • Additional Features - Good to know - makes an excellent container plant. Can be overwintered in a frost-free place. The chocolate scent is vanillin.
