  • Deciduous - lance-shaped leaves to 10cm (4in) long, dark-green above, silvery beneath.
  • White - silver-white
  • Height - 6m (20ft)
  • Spread - 6m (20ft)
  • Tall Shrub - or small tree. Spreading, red-tinted branches covered with silvery scales. Produces flowers to 1cm (½in) long followed by silver-scaly yellow berries to 2.5cm (1 in) long.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)

    When: When dormant in the late winter/early spring. Some in the summer/autumn to prevent bleeding of sap.
