ERYSIMUM 'Bowles Mauve'
Commonly known as Perennial wallflower
RHS Plant of the Decade 1973 - 1982. Green foliage, mauve flowers
Evergreen - narrowly lance-shaped grey-green leaves.
Blue - mauve
Height - 75cm (30in) plus
Spread - 60cm (24in)
Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - vigorous subshrubby perennial. Flowers to 1.5cm (½in) across in long racemes.
Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)
Additional Features - Good to know - RHS Plant of the Decade 1973 - 1982. Wildlife plant - insects. Short-lived perennial. Can easily be replaced after 2-3 years by cuttings taken May-July.
