  • Deciduous
    toothed dark-green leaves to 7cm (3in) long. Brilliant dark-red in autumn.
  • Height

  • Medium shrub Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height
    Dense bushy shrub. Shoots are 4-angled with broad, corky wings. Reddish purple fruit.
  • Hardy - cold winter Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)

    Or light shade -- deciduous species more tolerant of dry soil.
