  • Ground cover - These plants are typically low growing and spread quickly to inhibit weed growth on areas of bare soil - cupped, kidney shaped, scalloped, dark-green leaves 5-9cm (2-3½in) across on upright stalks 8-15 (3-6in) tall.
  • Herbaceous - Early in the year, typically January till end of March, herbaceous plants might be supplied in 9cm pots to ensure timely despatch. - mat-forming perennial. Flowers are followed by ovoid to spherical, orange-red fruit 5mm (¼in) across.
  • Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)
