Deciduous - broadly oval, bright-green leaves to 15cm (6in) long, turning red and yellow in autumn.

Tall Shrub - vase-shaped shrub with ascending branches. Spider-shaped flowers 2-3cm (¾-1¼in) across with 4 narrow petals in dense, axillary clusters on bare branches.
Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
