  • Deciduous - oval. pointed, toothed mid- to dark-green leaves 7-15cm (3-6in) long.
  • White
  • Height - 2.5-4m (8-13ft)
  • Spread - 2-3m (6½-10ft)
  • Tall Shrub - vigorous, upright habit. Pyramidal panicles to 20cm (8in) tall.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Full sun - requires a sheltered site

  • Harmful if eaten - These will give you an upset tummy, so please don't eat any of these.
  • May cause skin allergy or irritant - Having skin or eye contact with these plants could result in an allergic reaction, burning or rash.
  • Additional Features - Good to know - - larger flowerheads will be produced if previous season's shoots are cut back to within a few buds of the woody framework in spring.
  • Pests & Diseases - red spider mites, scale insects, vine weevils, capsid bugs, grey mould(Botrytis), hydrangea virus, powdery mildew, leaf spot, honey fungus.

    Suitable for: Deciduous and evergreen trees, and some deciduous shrubs.
    Pruning: Minimal pruning required. Prune wayward or crossing branches to maintain a healthy framework.
    When: When dormant in the late winter/early spring. Some in the summer/autumn to prevent bleeding of sap.
