DeciduousLarge, velvety-looking, rough-textured, broadly ovate dark-green leaves to 25cm (10in) long.
BlueBlue to purple fertile flowers
Tall ShrubUpright shrub with stout, bristly shoots. Flattened flowerheads to 23cm (9in) across.
Hardy - cold winterHardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
