      Male catkins to 8cm (3in) long in groups of 3-6 are yellow-brown and open before the leaves. Ovoid fruits,2-3cm (¾ to 1¼in) long, in summer.

      Pruning: Minimal pruning required. Prune wayward or crossing branches to maintain a healthy framework.
