  • Evergreen - elliptic to narrowly oblong, deep-green leaves 1-3.5cm (½ to 1½in) long.
  • Blue - gentian blue
  • Height - 15cm (6in)
  • Spread - 60cm (24in)
  • Alpine or rock plant - These plants prefer well drained soil and are generally dwarf in habit. - prostrate, spreading, many-branched shrub. Produces a profusion of flowers to 1cm (½in) across in terminal clusters.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)

  • Additional Features - Good to know - - syn Lithospermum diffusum. Blooms over a long period from late spring to summer
  • Pests & Diseases - aphids and red spider mite in glasshouse

    Suitable for: Evergreen shrubs that require minimal pruning.
    Action: Trim or lightly cut back shoots that spoil symmetry. Deadhead regularly.

    Action: Cut back flowered shoots to within 1 inch of previous year's growth.
