  • Evergreen - oval-oblong to lance-shaped leaves 8-18cm (3-7in) long, dark-green above, silky, grey-hairy beneath.
  • White - to creamy yellow.
  • Height - 8-15m (26-49ft)
  • Spread - 5-10m (16-33ft)
  • Tree - small, sometimes shrubby, tree. It is erect, bushy and pyramidal when young, spreading with age.
  • Hardy - average winter - Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)
  • Full sun - shelter from strong, drying winds.
