Commonly known as Chilean mitre flower
EvergreenToothed, leathery, glossy, dark-green leaves to 2.5cm (1in) long.
Red3cm (1¼in) long each with 5 lobes are produced singly from the leaf axils over a long period.
Medium shrubTypically grow to around 4-6 feet in heightScandent (climbs by means of flexible stems which grow over or through supports, attaching loosely if at all)spreading shrub.
Hardy - average winterHardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F)
