  • Herbaceous - Early in the year, typically January till end of March, herbaceous plants might be supplied in 9cm pots to ensure timely despatch. - annuals and clump-forming rhizomatous perennials.
  • Full sun - or dappled shade. Will not tolerate drying out in summer or excessive winter wet.
  • Partial shade
  • Additional Features - Good to know - wildlife plant - bees. Long-flowering and colourful. Most garden bergamots are derived from M. didyma (bee balm, Oswego tea) or are hybrids of M. fistulosa (wild bergamot).
  • Pests & Diseases - slugs, particularly in springtime.Powdery mildew in hot dry weather.
  • Place of origin - North America.
  • Scented Plants - Scented foliage
  • Soil Conditions - Fertile moist well-drained soil - humus-rich.
