  • Evergreen - yellow-green leaves turn bright-red in autumn.
  • Semi-evergreen - Keeps some of its foliage all year, and will drop some leaves as well.
  • White
  • Height - 45cm (18in)
  • Spread - 60cm (24in)
  • Dwarf shrub - Typically only grows to a maximum of one or two feet in height but there will be some exceptions. - produces small, white flowers followed by red berries.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Full sun - in a sheltered site
  • Additional Features - Good to know - - at least 2 different cultivars are required for fruiting
  • Pests & Diseases - viruses.
  • Place of origin - India, China, Japan. Garden origin.
  • Resistant to honey fungus - These plants have little or few problems with honey fungus.
  • Flower Shape - Panicles - - conical panicles to 40cm (16in) long
  • Star-shaped - to 1cm (½in) across
  • Hardiness - Fully hardy -
  • Pruning group - Pruning group 6
    Suitable for: Evergreen shrubs or climbers that need little to no pruning.
    Action: Trim back shoots that spoil symmetry and to fit available space.
    When: Annually after flowering if on previous year's growth, or in later Winter or Spring if flowering on current year's growth, or as requires.
