OLEARIA 'Henry Travers'

Commonly known as Daisy bush

(O.semidentata) - one of the scarcer but most attractive Olearias with lilac aster-like flowers with a purple centre. Excellent for coastal exposure but difficult to get going

  • Evergreen - lance-shaped, leathery, grey-green leaves to 8cm (3in) long, white-felted beneath.
  • Height - 2.5m (8ft)
  • Spread - 2m (6ft)
  • Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - rounded shrub with slender, white-felted shoots. Flowerheads to 5cm (2in) across.
  • Full sun - shelter from cold, dry winds.
  • Additional Features - Good to know - wildlife plant - insects.
  • Pests & Diseases - trouble free.
  • Place of origin - New Zealand (a natural hybrid from the Chatham Islands)
  • Resistant to honey fungus - These plants have little or few problems with honey fungus.
  • Soil Conditions - Fertile well drained soil
