  • Deciduous - large leaves to 1.2m (4ft) comprising up to 80 ovate leaflets, broadly and irregularly margined yellow becoming paler with age. Autumn colouring of yellow, orange or purple
  • White

  • Spread - 5m (16ft)
  • Tall Shrub - upright, then spreading shrub with stout, spiny stems. Flowers are followed by spherical black fruit to 6mm (¼in) across
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Partial shade - open or partially shaded site. Shelter from winds to avoid leaf damage
