  • Good to know - one of the hardiest wattles. Usually grown as a cool greenhouse plant but can survive all but the hardest frosts.
  • Pests & Diseases - red spider mites under glass.
  • Place of Origin - eastern Australia.
  • Height - 6m (20ft)
  • Spread - 6m (20ft)
  • Evergreen - lance-shaped leaves (phyllodes) to 15cm (6in) long.
  • Tall Shrub - or small tree. Grows into a rounded, billowy shrub. Produces flowers in cylindrical clusters 2.5-5cm (1-2in) long.
  • Will grow outside in milder locations - This could include plants which would survive happily in a greenhouse or conservatory if not in a mild location. If you have a sheltered spot in your garden then it may do well here. - loam based compost for greenhouse - plenty of light.
  • Fertile well drained soil
  • Neutral to acid soil
  • Full sun - sheltered site.
  • Rounded to broadly spreading
  • Flower Colour - Yellow
