PASSIFLORA antioquiensis

Commonly known as Red banana passion flower

Huge pendulous rich rose-red flowers with a violet corona. Tender except in mild locations but a most spectacular plant for the conservatory

  • Evergreen - finely-toothed, deeply 3-lobed, mid- to deep-green leaves 10-15cm (4-6in) long.

  • Height - 5m (16ft) or more
  • Climber - Some of these climbing plants will need trellis or wire supports if grown on walls or fences. Other grow aerial roots and are self-clinging - vigorous tendril climber with slender, branched stems.
  • Tender - cool or frost free greenhouse - Tolerant of low temperatures, but not surviving being frozen. Except in frost-free inner-city areas or coastal extremities requires glasshouse conditions. Plant can withstand temperatures down to 1°C (34°F)
