Evergreen - slender, inversely lance-shaped, finely-toothed, glossy dark-green leaves. Leaves are red when young, turning pink, then creamy white and, finally, green.

Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - compact, upright shrub. Produces flowers in erect, then pendent, terminal panicles to 15cm (6in) long in mid- and late spring.

Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
