  • Spread - 2m (6ft)
  • Evergreen - slender, inversely lance-shaped, finely-toothed, glossy dark-green leaves. Leaves are red when young, turning pink, then creamy white and, finally, green.
  • Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - compact, upright shrub. Produces flowers in erect, then pendent, terminal panicles to 15cm (6in) long in mid- and late spring.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Acid / ericaceous loving
  • Fertile moist well-drained soil - moderately fertile
  • Full sun - avoid early morning sun.
  • Partial shade
  • Harmful if eaten - These will give you an upset tummy, so please don't eat any of these. - leaves and nectar.
