Deciduous - ovate, toothed, mid-green leaves to 45cm (18in) long
Height - to 1.2m (4ft)
Spread - 20-40cm (8-16in)
Herbaceous - Early in the year, typically January till end of March, herbaceous plants might be supplied in 9cm pots to ensure timely despatch. - rosette-forming perennial. Produces umbels of up to 40 pendent flowers
Very hardy - Hardy in the severest continental climates including exposed upland locations in the UK. Plant can withstand temperatures < -20 (-4°F)
Additional Features - Pests & Diseases - aphids, red spider mite, vine weevil, slugs, viruses, grey mould(Botrytis)
Place of origin - southeastern Tibet. Introduced into UK by Frank Kingdon-Ward (1885-1958) in 1924.
