  • Climber - Some of these climbing plants will need trellis or wire supports if grown on walls or fences. Other grow aerial roots and are self-clinging - perennial climber with twining leaf-stalks.
  • Additional Features - Good to know - - in frost-prone areas grow as annuals.
  • Pests & Diseases - under glass, red spider mites, whiteflies.
  • Place of origin - Mexico
  • Garden Location/Conditions - Greenhouse / conservatory - Not the sort of plants to be grown outside where there are likely to be frosts. These plants need to be grown in a conservatory or cool greenhouse or at least brought inside for the winter

Commonly known as: Purple bell vine.
Dark green foliage, purple-red penile-shaped pendent flowers with black centres. An excellent climber for the conservatory where it will grow 8-10ft in a single season and flower throughout the summer. Suitable for the greenhouse or outdoors in sheltered areas. Usually available May to June only.
