  • Good to know - suitable for a rock garden in full sun.
  • Pests & Diseases - vine weevils, scale insects, honey fungus, powdery mildew, bud blast.
  • Place of Origin - garden origin. UK. 1933. JC Williams, Caerhays, Cornwall
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Height - 1m (3ft)
  • Spread - 1m (3ft)
  • Evergreen - leaves 1-5cm (½-2in) long, yellowish-green when young changing to mid-green.
  • Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - compact shrub. Produces trusses of 2 or 3 funnel-shaped, grey-blue flowers 0.7-2.5cm (¼-1in) long. Flowers are carried at the tips of the shoots.
  • Fertile moist well-drained soil - humus-rich.
  • Neutral to acid soil - ideally pH4.5 - 5.5
  • Full sun - shelter from strong winds
  • Partial shade
  • Flower Colour - Blue - clear blue
