Dwarf rhododendron. Choice pink flowers fading to white as they open
Pests & Diseases - vine weevils, scale insects, honey fungus, powdery mildew, bud blast.
Place of Origin - garden origin. USA. Late 1980's. Warren Berg, Washington State
Height - 0.6m (2ft)
Spread - 0.9m (3ft)
Dwarf shrub - Typically only grows to a maximum of one or two feet in height but there will be some exceptions. - forms dense, cushion-like mats. Multiple trusses of tubular-funnel-shaped flowers 2.5cm (1in) long cover the leaves.
Evergreen - small, dark-green leaves 1-5cm (½-2in) long.
Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
Fertile moist well-drained soil - humus-rich
Neutral to acid soil - ideally pH4.5 - 5.5
Full sun - shelter from strong winds
Flower Colour - Shades of pink - All shades of pink through to Carmine (red) - pink fading to white
