    Commonly known as American bramble, Flowering raspberry

    Vigorous suckering and spreading shrub with palmate velvety leaves, clusters of attractive purplish-pink flowers and edible red fruit. A good plant for semi-shade in a wild garden

      Fast-growing, thicket-forming with spineless shoots. Produces panicles of flowers to 5cm (2in) across, followed by flattened, hemispherical fruit to 2cm (¾in) across.
    • Pruning group 2
      Suitable for: Deciduous shrubs and trees that flower in Spring or early Summer on previous year's growth, including plants that produce new growth at or near ground level.
      Pruning: Prune flowered shoots to strong buds. Cut back approximately 1/4 of old shoots to the base to promote replacement growth.
      When: Annually, after flowering.
