  • Deciduous - 3-palmate leaves to 15cm (6in) long, composed of ovate, glossy, mid-green leaflets
  • Purple - Shades of purple/mauve/lilac/violet - solid purple.
  • Height - 2m (6½ft)

  • Medium shrub - Typically grow to around 4-6 feet in height - thicket-forming with upright slightly prickly shoots. Produces usually solitary flowers 5cm (2in) across.
  • Hardy - very cold winter - Hardy in all of UK and northern Europe. Plant can possibly withstand temperatures down to -20°C (-4°F)
