SYRINGA emodii 'Aureovariegata'

Commonly known as Himalayan lilac

Attractive yellow leaves with green centres are the key feature of this Himalayan lilac. Flowers pale lilac in bud fading to white in long panicles

  • Deciduous - elliptic-oblong leaves to 15cm (6in) long.
  • Purple - Shades of purple/mauve/lilac/violet - pale lilac
  • Height - 5m (16ft)
  • Spread - 4m (13ft)
  • Tall Shrub - vigorous, upright shrub with stout shoots. Produces flowers in large, upright panicles to 15cm (6in) long.
  • Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
  • Full sun
  • Additional Features - Pests & Diseases - leaf miners, thrips, willow scale, lilac blight, honey fungus.
