6th January 2021. In line with the current government lockdown rules, Burncoose Nurseries is closed to visitors. However at present we are able to offer click and collect to local customers. This will be weekdays only, not weekends.
Mail order is continuing as normal. However please allow extra time for the couriers to deliver, once despatched from us. Sorry to say that some depots are experiencing high volumes of traffic, also staff shortages.

WISTERIA brachybotrys 'Shiro-kapitan'
Commonly known as Silky wisteria
(syn. venusta) - a rare Japanese species with silky young foliage and unusually large cream flowers on short racemes. Mid season flowering. An excellent container plant

Deciduous - pinnate, softly hairy leaves to 35cm (14in) long composed of 9-13 ovate to lance-shaped leaflets.

Height - 9m (28ft) or more.

Climber - Some of these climbing plants will need trellis or wire supports if grown on walls or fences. Other grow aerial roots and are self-clinging - twining climber. Produces pea-like flowers in racemes to 15cm (6in) long followed by bean-like, velvety green seed pods to 20cm (8in) long.

Hardy - cold winter - Hardy in most places throughout the UK even in severe winters. May not withstand open/exposed sites or central/northern locations. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -15°C (5°F)
