Genus of about 200 species of annual and perennial succulents and evergreen succulent shrubs and subshrubs.
They range from dwarf to tall, tree-like plants and are found in dry to moist, high to low areas in Africa, Madagascar and Asia but mostly in South Africa.
Evergreen - perennial succulents and shrubs. Grown for their fleshy leaves which vary in size, shape and texture, and tubular or star-shaped flowers.

Soil Conditions - Fertile moist well-drained soil - humus rich and grit for extra drainage
